We provide immigration legal services at our hourly rate. On the overall, we assist clients with applications under the EU Settlement Scheme for settlement in the UK, Visa applications and applications for British citizenship.

Service inclusions

Our work will involve the following:

  • Discussing your circumstances in detail and confirming whether this is the most appropriate application for you to make and what other options may be available to you;
  • Giving you advice about the requirements of the Immigration Rules and whether you meet the criteria.
  • Considering the supporting evidence you have provided
  • Where necessary, helping you obtain further evidence (such as medical records, bank statements and utility bills), including taking statements of any witnesses;
  • Preparing your application and submitting it on your behalf;
  • If the Home Office asks you to attend an interview, we will give you legal advice and discuss the possibility of us attending with you at the appropriate time. The hours of work will depend on the issues encountered and the travel distance.
  • Giving you advice about the outcome of the application and any further steps you need to take.

Timescales

Depending on the sort of application, the time that it will take us to deal with it and the turnaround time by the Home Office and the EU Settlement Centre vary.

Regarding the applications to the EU Settlement Centre to resolve the application. their processing times are currently advertised to be between 6-8 weeks at gov.uk website.

Regarding the British citizenship application, we refer you to the current processing times as stated by the Home Office.

Regarding the Visas turnaround times, we refer you to their the current processing times.

Regarding our own work as lawyers, the exact number of hours that the specific application will take depends on the circumstances in your case, such as:

  • The amount of supporting evidence that we need to consider.
  • Which language(s) you speak and if interpreter is needed to take instructions
  • Whether you are applying with other dependants.
  • The number of documents, whether they need to be translated, whether anything is missing and how long it will take to obtain the missing documents. -If you need us to assist with your sponsors.
  • If we have to get in touch with third parties/institutions (i.e. in case of a domestic violence, paperwork held by the police or make data subject access request).

Our Pricing

We charge at our hourly fee, which ranges depending on seniority of the solicitor. The VAT is charged at 20% on the figure given. The total costs for any application will range from £1,500 plus VAT to 10,000 plus VAT.

Hourly Fees: £250-350 plus VAT
Average Costs: £1.500-£10,00 plus VAT
Complex Cases: £10,000 +

Disbursements (not included in costs set out above):

In an immigration matter in the UK, there are various disbursements (additional costs) that may be incurred besides the legal representation fees. Here we provide you with a list of the common disbursements that may arise in an immigration matter:

  1. Application fees: these are fees charged by the UK Home Office for processing immigration applications. The amount varies on the type of visa or application made.
    Visa fees can be found in the website of the UK Government, please follow this link for information about current visa fees.
    British citizenship fees can be found in the website of the UK Government, please follow this link for information about current British citizenship fees.
  2. Translation and interpretation fees:
    If your documents need to be translated or if you require interpretation services for interviews or meetings, these costs may need to be covered.
    We may need to take instructions from you with the assistance of an interpreter, and you may also want to seek the assistance of an interpreter when attending to the Home Office if requested.
    The fees of the interpreters vary depending on the language and location.
    Please note that clients can bring a friend or another community figure to come and help interpret so clients do not always have to use an interpreter related to the firm.
  3. Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS):
    Non-EEA nationals applying for a visa to stay in the UK for more than 6 months are usually required to pay the Immigration Health Surcharge. The amount is baesd on the length of stay and is intended to cover access to the National Health Service (NHS) during the visa period.
  4. Document certification and notarisation:
    Some immigration applications may require certified and notarised documents. The fees for obtaining these certifications may vary depending on the fees charged by different Notaries.
  5. Travel expenses:
    You may want us to attend an interview at the Home Office with you and our travel expenses will depend on the distance between our offices location and the specific appointment location.
  6. Independent expert reports:
    Such as medical experts in case they are required for the purposes of the application.
  7. Courier and postage fees:
    Sending documents to the Home Office or receiving important documentary from them may involve courier or postage fees.
  8. Biometric enrolment fees:
    Certain immigration applications require applicants to provide biometric information, such as fingerprints and photographs. There may be fees associated with enrolling biometrics at designated centres.
  9. English language tests:
    For some visa categories as well as for the British citizenship application, applicants will need to demonstrate their English language proficiency by taking an approved English language test. The fees for these tests depend on the exam provider.
  10. Life in the UK test:
    Applicants for British citizenship (with some exceptions) need to pass the Life in the UK test, the cost of which is currently £50.
